Yes. This is a time tested method of keeping the intruders behind the doors.
Same with a time tested window escape route.

Speaking of "prantagonists" is there a particular side of this deal that we're supposed to be on? or is it free choice? either way, i find myself on the eldritch side. :V

Oh yes, I agree. I'm enjoying the character interactions and seeing Clara be awesome. But I can't wait to get back to Jaunts high-class-until-I-gut-you personae, Jacks street-rat-trying-to-get-by activities, or Hughs Gentle-giant-hiding-monstrous-nature attitude.

Plus, the more we see of them, the more ammo Taily has. And Taily is hilarious.

Personally I'm a huge fan of stories where it's not good versus evil, it's just faction versus faction.

I hate stories where there's a villain who's bad with no reason to be bad aside from being a plot device, so really what I'm trying to do is make a sympathetic viewpoint for all characters involved. Ultimately, after this first story arc, it's going to focus primarily on the monsters, but I was hoping to draw people's interest by having more relatable human characters driving the mystery.

All I can say is I'm glad I've got people interested in J, J and H because I've been worried about their lack of involvement in the plot meaning they're being forgotten or that people don't care as much about them :)

Thanks, you guys.

Damn, this whole sequence is just like in Call of Chutulhu: Dark corners of the Earth game. Except Chase seems more capable than the main guy in that game.

Also just like the climax of The Shadow Over Innsmouth, of which both DCotE and this comic are based :)

Oh good, the door did open inward. Chase would have been awful embarrassed if the goons pulled the door open and just jumped over that bookcase. lol

Go, Clara, go!

...and Chase, too, I suppose...

Yes, I know the monster people are supposed to be sympathetic, too, but I gotta pull for my species, man. :)

Haha you're butt looking

Yeah, not a terribly exciting page, just moving the sequences along. This is the problem with story-based webcomics, sometimes :( I wish I could just do monthly updates of 20 pages or something like that.

Agreed! I think my favorites were the shots in panels 6 and 7. 7 is probably my favorite shot of Clara so far. Well drawn and a lot of emotion and frustration expressed visually.

Wow gee, thanks, you guys :)

It takes me a while to get a character design down solid, I feel like I'm getting really good at drawing these two, finally.

I like this page. Frantic and full of tension, gj!

Should I point out that Clara's hand in panel 5 is the wrong way around?

i like how you reinvented the original story and made it your own but you still do little things from the original like blocking the door with the book case.

Thank you so much :'D

I'm trying not to be super samey, but I definitely want it to follow the same kinda line of events with some specific changes to it.
