Being a long time fan of Lovecraft's stories, I really like what you've done in continuing the Dagon/Cthulhu mythos. Your depiction of the Deep Ones and the interbred citizens of Innsmouth is spot on. I have bookmarked this site and look forward to further reading this story .

Whoop, double post! I'm really glad you like it - Innsmouth is one of my favorites, for sure, but I also love Mountains of Madness a lot. It's hard to pick favorites, and you'll see if you stick around that I'm going to incorporate lots from all kinds of his, and other mythos writers tales!

Yes! I love the way you're presenting the history here. Well done, sir. Take a bow!

Do you mean like, a hair bow or a violin bow?

Heheh, thanks man. I figured instead of delivering a bunch of exposition through a bunch of weird and exhausting angles I would just drop it on a page, keep it light but dense, I guess.

I actually think they mean a composite bow.
Let out your inner Katniss man!

Maybe if it's a +5 Composite Longbow +4!

Yeah, totally didn't out myself as a massive nerd just now.

I think this page would look even better if the text was handwritten. It would fit really with the sketchy pencil work.

Nice choice of using the parchment paper texture for the background of this exposition.

I thought it might be a good motif to go with, for both heavy exposition and little sketchy drawing of lovecraftian horrors :)

If only I had the time to make a comic that had more realistic designs - but this is fine, I'm pleased with the look I've developed for TSOI :)

Having never actually read Lovecraft, this is all news to me. Interbreeding!! Zoinks!!

But now I'm imagining Hugh as a normal-looking little kid with fishy tendencies and everything is okay. Just think about how cute he would be. He would love taking baths and would have an irrational fear of hooks.

(Also I hate being the one to point this out but there's a typo in the 6th sentence!!)

You're not too far off, actually, heh heh...

and I have NO IDEA what you're talking about, I don't see a typo. Maybe look again?

(... thanks. :I )

(Also, I'd be so happy if Chase just responded to all of this with a good heavy-lidded "incredible" à la page 48.)
