Dammit Clara We're in fucking Innsmouth! You just got me robbed and or murdered.

I can't begin to imagine how mad I would be in this situation.

Love the effect on that first panel.

Hahaha, yeah, he's not terribly pleased with the situation. Thank you - I'm trying to expand and vary the ways I fill in the panels I don't feel like drawing backgrounds on, haha.

"Okay, Clara. It's official. I don't have to be faster than (insert nameless horror from beyond time and space here), just faster than you."

Great page. I really like that texturing on the walls!

*snerk* He's not THAT heartless!

And thanks, but these aren't intended to be walls, just me being lazy and filling in the blank space so it's not just a solid color behind them. Is there something I could be doing rather than this when I don't want to draw a background, you think? I've been pondering this recently...

I'm pretty lazy with a lot of my backgrounds, but I'm rather fond of a radial gradient from -color (out of space... see what I did there?) to black, giving a neat shadowy thing on the outer edges. What you did here actually looks (to me, anyway) like period-piece wallpaper.

All in all, when you don't want to do a background, find some neat effects in whatever program you're using. (*Braces for impact of "lazy artist" comments, even though I saw blatant copy-paste on one of the most amazingly drawn comics on the site...*)

Or, rather than effects, texturing. Or some very simple BG (like a couple of objects, just to keep it from being "in space").

Okay, I think I may officially be rambling at this point...

Chase is probably gonna take a good long while making his way upstairs isn't he. And he's going to glare at the innkeeper the entire time. Never breaking eye contact. Until he doesn't watch where he's stepping and falls when he's halfway up the stairs.

That's like telling a kid not to touch something...just makes them want to touch it more...lol

I don't blame Chase...why doesn't he just handcuff himself to the case... LOL

Oh no, these characters and events are all mine, they're just inspired by the short story :) There was no Chekov's Case in The Shadow Over Innsmouth.

I love it. Mostly because I always envision the baby faced Chekhov from Star Trek and it makes me giggle.
