So, maybe not a road trip, but a boat trip instead. The words are close enough! Roat trip? Boad trip?

Anyway :')

I hope everyone's having a good week so far!

I like how Nyarly's level of assisting is "I'll tell you where to go but I'm not going to use my own higher levels of power to bypass that anchor and move you there right now myself."

Mmh, those same high-level powers weren't able to remove it :) To be honest, attempting to put Jaunt through a portal was probably one of the things they tried, heheh - he's pretty much stuck in this dimension now!

Hmmm, cooperate or get disappeared? Decisions, decisions. Roy would probably be just as jovial as he gave the order.

In other locals; is Jaunt reabsorbing the ichor? Ewww!

On further thought Roy could easily just let them go. Without resources they are just a couple of kooks. Edgar Cayce was in his prime and Aleister Crowley was still running around. They wouldn't stand out much above the background noise and stood a pretty good chance of getting them selves killed.

It's true - the idea that Roy might imprison them or... SOMETHING them is probably just paranoia. There's not much they could do on their own.

Also, Jaunt is burning up his blood to utilize it for a healing spell! :D

Well, I know it's probably against Chase's and Clara's (and Earth's!) best interests, but I hope Jaunt gets the help he needs from these Mi-Go, because if he doesn't get rid of that anchor I suspect his life expectancy will be very long. :(

So, when do we leave for the adventure, Clara & Chase? :D

Hey, who says Jaunt isn't pro-earth? :D He lives there, after all!

But yeah, Chase and Clara might have problems if he gets it removed :') simultaneously he can't look forward to living too much longer if he doesn't get the anchor removed.

Off to the Mi-Go it is then...
(Can Jaunt just come in whenever he wants, or does he have to make an appointment beforehand? And what kind of magazines do the Mi-Go have in their waiting room?)

You do have to book an appointment and fill out a patient information sheet. The magazines they have there range from Fungus Monthly to Neurosurgeon's Digest

Pun intended?

Neurosurgeon's digest...is that an intentional pun? ;)

I think I said this in the past but it is always interesting to see a different color of blood than red but at the same time it is really hard for me to find it gory. Heh.
But it is cool you decided to give different creatures different blood unless that is a lore requirement :D

That's actually a rule in Hollywood - alien/monster blood doesn't count as gore if it's not red, so you can have more violence and still keep a PG-13 rating.

Yeah. It is just weird how we see blood, huh?
Same with games. Some old games censored it with green or orange.

I just think it loses some effect but that is the whole point. No matter how hard you try to image it is blood.

It is a bit weird how that works, isn't it? I had a bit more trouble drawing Irwin's arm being lopped off, for sure, haha :'D

Unfortunately for Jaunt it's considerably easier for me to draw blood pouring out of him because it doesn't register the same in my brain, heh.

Nyarl looks kinda cute in the 5th panel, with this tip of his mantle on his forehead...

So the raid was a "subtle" demonstration for Chase and Clara. I didn't get that at first. Makes him not more trustworthy in my eyes.

There is something about humans... they don't look much like monsters, but, you know... on the inside... sure, this is a story about all kinds of monsters... I shouldn't be surprised.

I like the way that Nyarlathotep panel turned out! He's always very frustrating for me to draw.

And yeah, Roy was just kinda flexing his power a bit, as if warping time didn't already do that enough XD

I'm glad the theme of 'everyone is a monster!' is working for you, it always makes me happy to know that I'm succeeding, there :)

Roy promised to explain that about the time loss and didn't. I hope that Chase remembers that in time. They shouldn't trust Roy further than Clara could throw him.

Re 'Everyone's a monster' - come to think about it... it may also have been H.P.L.'s theme in some of his stories. And here the theme also works "the other way round": The most "monstrous" looking person, the insectoid warrior, was the one with the strongest code of honor. Followed by Jaunt, who is absolutely capable to kill for the greater goal, but doesn't do for sheer fun. Where are the humans on this scale? Hmmm...

I can't say that I have found this take in whatever I know from H.P.L. but I surely love it.

Still so interesting how we've basically wound up with two sides of protagonists, both antagonistic toward each other. We're rooting for Jaunt and his underlings as much as we're rooting for the human folks.

Which really leads me to wonder what Chase will think of what Irwin's become when they finally meet again. Three sides of protagonists, maybe? :o

I'm happy to know that you're still invested in both sides :D

Trying to ride this line as long as I have been has been really challenging. It's hard to show antagonistic tendencies in people without making them less likable, I think, so I'm really happy to hear that it's working!

Chase and Irwin's reunion.. if it happens, will be quite interesting, I'd wager ;)

I just went back and reviewed the first chapter. If that is the Captain Marsh of whom Jaunt and Nyarlathotep are speaking, he is much younger than I expected.

Ah! This is a new Marsh. The older Marshes are either dead or already turned :) This character's totally different, it's not Obed.
