Hey everyone!

So you are all amazing. The results from the strawpoll a couple days ago were overwhelmingly in favor of me taking a break so here's the deal:

CURRENTLY I am planning on only a 3 week hiatus, starting after this current chapter ends on 10/20. JoeyBallast has already volunteered himself as a guest artist which I am super happy about :) If anybody reading wants to contribute any guest art or anything of the sort please let me know and we can work stuff out!

I might also do a little filler art myself, but we'll see how many people I get who want to contribute. Until then though, enjoy the next few pages, and thank you for being so amazing. If you're reading this, you're the reason I keep making this thing in the first place. Have a great weekend :)

In retrospect, that might be one of the more unrealistic things I have depicted in the comic :')

Yeah, I'm with Chase on this one, it isn't a surprise, just as it wouldn't be in the real 1920's Prohibition Era USA. Nice touch. ;)

I guess it is of dubious legality because everyone silently agrees that at least a few of such places are needed for people to vent undisturbed. Gotta have that as slight prevention, I guess.

Or some of the cops either feel very strongly that it shouldn't be illegal or they're being bribed, heh. But yeah, I dunno how much worse the prohibition would be if there weren't speakeasies. Probably a little more violent... not that it wasn't already.

Chuckle, Despite prohibition alcohol was pretty common. The involvement of the mob made it a big deal on the east coast and the big cities like Chicago but in other places as long as there wasn't a Baptist revival going on and you didn't raise too much hell a drink wasn't too hard to come by. Grandpa Mgnostic had a still on the Red River in Southwest Oklahoma.
Good job on the scenery lighting.

Oh man, that's awesome :D

Yeah, it's such a big deal here because they're essentially in Salem Massachusetts, very near the seat of the federal government and established urban environments.

The south truly was a different experience during those times, wasn't it?

Guest art request?

Still hoping to see art of Jaunt in a dapper top hat.

Entirely because I'm sure there's such an image already and can't find it.

Ah yes, I haven't forgotten :D I think I'm going to submit an art piece or two, myself, so this may just happen! I'm gonna see about getting guest art for this break though, for sure :)

A hot band playing cool jazz. Or a lady singing torch songs. My kind of speakeasy.

If you want to see a whole comic dealing with that theme and time in the USA (but with cats), have a look at http://www.lackadaisycats.com,

It has really nice graphics, but very slow updates.

Yeah? :D

I did think it was kinda funny - I mean, with a jazz band and everything? Yeah the police probably know about it on some level...
