Aaah! The roof! The roof!

But yeah. It's a speakeasy, sorry everyone who thought it was going to be like a crazy cult meeting or a room fulla monsters XD

Some of the pubs I have been in have in fact resembled a crazy cult meeting or a room full of monsters.

When you need to meet a shady character during the height of prohibition...what better place?

His smarmy flippin face in panel 3. Oh my god. I am going to love this part.

HA! Yes! I'm really warming up to this character. If nothing else, he definitely keeps things interesting.

I needed to have a human character that approaches the mystery a little more lighthearted, heh :)

In a hindsight, better than a spooky cult place. That would be obvious I guess. Gotta do business somewhere different even though I think the monsters are going to turn the tides soon :/

Yeah, a speakeasy is definitely a good place to do a little behind-the-scenes work, heh. Again, I'll reserve commentary on your speculation ;)

But Jack doesn't like speakeasies! Hence the look of haughty disgust in the last panel. He's being all judgy.

He's actually REALLY, REALLY TIRED because he hasn't slept in over 24 hours, heheh. But yeah, he might hate speakeasies, too...

I get the feeling that, while this may be a speakeasy, it isn't your... standard speakeasy. This is Lovecraft territory, after all. It wouldn't be out of the question if what we're hearing from that doorway happens to be selections from The Music of Erich Zann. After all, Zann's melodies kept otherworldly beings away in Lovecraft's works. What better way to keep eldritch eavesdroppers and interlopers away without having to use 'magic'?

Oh man, I have to say that is NOT what that is but that is such a good idea. You should use it for something. The idea of a secret society operating as a speakeasy using music to keep eldritch beings at bay.. that is a fantastically cool idea :D

So Jack has some sort of means to render himself less visible. A very useful capability for someone on an important surveillance mission.

He used it at the start of the previous chapter, too, and a little bit earlier in this chapter. He's got some sort of invisibility field he can turn on and off at the moment :)

Aaah! This stuff! I didn't find any when I was in RI back in 2015, but they don't make this anymore :( I did get some of the Innsmouth Brown, though, and that was great. Most recently I got some of the Temple Altbier that they were offering this year at Necronomicon. It's good stuff :)

Jack looks so disgusted in that last panel, whatta narc!! Honestly if he wanted to destroy all these people he could just rat them out to the cops right now and let the boys in blue handle it with a good old-fashioned raid. Buuuuut I think he wants to get a bit more vigilante-justicey with this, yeah?

People are saying he looks disgusted at the speakeasy but I think people forget he's currently looking at the man who almost killed him and his cohort XD

He doesn't give a flip about the speakeasy, he's just trying to take out the people with the info, heh!
