And here we get to see Jaunt at a very low point in his existence.

So hey! I got back from Necronomicon recently and it was a blast! I got to attend a panel with Peter Rawlek and a couple other cool authors about how to write non-stale mythos stories and I think I'm on track, haha. One of the panelists, Tom Lynch, specifically said "You know how comics have this whole 'meanwhile' thing? What if you did something like that and showed both sides of the story from several perspectives?"

It was difficult not to speak up :D

But yeah! Handed out a lot of postcards, spread the word. I hope we have some more readers now - don't be shy and leave a comment if you met me at Necronomicon!

Have a good week everyone :)

I like how he seems to have put a tourniquet on the arm

Poor Jaunt. It's tough being on the receiving end of situations beyond your control, especially when you're used to being the one in control.

On an art note, I particularly like the night sky in this scene. Sometimes just a few bright points and slight shade difference of dark blended together make for a much more convincing scene, and it definitely works here. Simplicity definitely has its place, even in detailed art.

Also, glad the con went well and good luck on expanding your viewership! You have an intriguing story going here. :)

Yeah he's definitely not used to being in this position, heh, one can sympathize :)

And hey, thank you! I really like the bottom left panel, how it turned out. I'm glad other people like it too, it makes me happy! Yeah, don't put in too many details in a night sky unless it's for a specific purpose, totally not necessary otherwise.

I appreciate the well wishes, too - I hope there's more and more of you down here in the comments as the story ramps up :D

I would recommend taking a few deep breaths, but I am not sure if Jaunt even does breath...

Some how, I don't think that Jaunt kept Irwin's arm as a trophy or even to clean up the battlefield so as not to leave suspicious items behind.

I can think of several things that Eldritch magic might let Jaunt do.

It is a good trophy.
Jaunt can look for traces of Thigg in it and analyze it.
Is that too far-fetched? :O

Not at all. I'm glad people are already catching on.. I just thought it was a funny image, Jaunt walking through the woods, carrying a severed arm XD

He's not keeping it as a trophy or anything; he just needed to hold someone's hand for a while. :(

Alternate uses:

As a "grabber" tool.
As a pointer for your plans.
Cup-holder.
Pen-holder.
Back-scratcher.
Literal hand-puppet.
Lunch.

Perhaps we will see a practical application of the law of contagion.
Also interested to see if Jaunt is still "anchored" in Thigg's absence.
Nice use of color as it seems to echo Jaunt's mood.

I don't think he'd be walking if he wasn't anchored. It doesn't seem to suit him too well XD

As for the law of contagion, that's a good start, for sure :) I like the way you guys are thinking!

Poor Jaunt, indeed - 2nd longest legs of all in the story and not up to use them.

When you need to teleport the nearest town, but you're out of mana, and forgot to stock up on warp items.
