I do love writing this character. Anyway! This is my last update before I go on the roadtrip to Necronomicon next week, so if there is any weirdness in my upload timings next week I apologize!

I hope I see at least one of you guys there, if not, no biggie, but it should be fun :)

Have a good weekend everyone!

Oh, not suspicious at all, meeting in a dark alley behind a random place of business. Chase's thought-bubble: "And how am I being set up this time?"

Heh, you're not wrong. Do you think his curiosity about this situation is going to let him sit it out, though? Heh.

The body proportions are off, like the torso is a little too big in comparison to the head and arms.

I can see what he's talking about but I kinda mark it down to my style. It's most apparent in last panel I feel like, I wasn't super thrilled with it.

This is not about a suitcase full of money, right? And I guess the magical readings are off? What was he even trying to tell?

Nah, not full of money XD In terms of the reading and Roy's reaction, I'm using it more for character development and less for storytelling or providing any 'useful' information about the situation, heheh. I want you to get a feel for how casually Roy treats this stuff.

Actually, any ideas from where the "looking at your pen while on the phone" cliche comes from? Very typical for Noir like stuff but I cannot find any origins :<

I like the facial expressions in panels 2&5. Chase doesn't have much in the way of occult protection yet but I'm betting he will be packing a .38.

Aah, and he's got good hair, too. Wonderful art as usual! Meeting a man wearing two necklaces in a back alley is always a great idea!

I was a little underwhelmed by the art on this page, personally, but I always try to make it up when I get pages like this.

How many necklaces is too many, though, I have to ask?

I think I'd trust Benny, from the first Mummy movie, to know how many necklaces you need.

That man was genre-savvy, though too greedy to live.

Doesn't look like Roy got any useful information from the chart wheel on which he was attempting perform a pendulum reading. I wonder if that was a divination for Chase (and/or Chase's future)? And if he failed, why?

He either didn't get any useful info or he disagrees with it ;) The intent is not for the reader to understand anything aside from how flippant Roy is with the occult.

So Roy is an adherent of John Constantine's style of magic?
