Oh what's up Irwin? :D

For real that last panel took me longer than it should. Nice to see Innsmouth from the worn out, abandoned southern side though, I guess? I'm happy with it :D

Whoever works in that lighthouse must be in good enough health and shape to not mind that many stairs! (Or they should instal an elevator.)

Hm. They are so used to each other now :)
I hope. I actually cannot even guess blob's intentions at all. He is probably just using Irwin because convenience and whether he grows attached to him (okay, yeah, lame)... Who knows. If he is not already. Like... He sounds very genuine and sincere. Minus that one time when he did that... weird effect. Really cool duo :D
Even Irwin is more likable than his bro. I thin... I will give them my word of confidence.

Yeah, it's been about a week, so we get to see how much progression they've had over a measure of time :)

I'm glad the dynamic between those two is working for you, it's just one of the tricky things that I hope I can do successfully, story wise, haha :D

That Guy Over There

Thigg has gotten bigger, taking up more of his body. I'm having worrisome flashbacks to that Robocop reboot. If, sooner or later, the two of them have a falling out, would Thigg spit what little left of his humanity out, or just... swallow.

I don't think it will take that long for the creature to finish consuming the human.
Look how much has progressed already.

Let's see if that's what Thigg is actually up to :D

Unfortunately there's a good bit of comic ahead, so it'll take a bit, heheh..

Irwin doesn't seem too perturbed that his body is mostly ... inhuman, for the lack of a better word. Makes me wonder what sort of influences Thigg (it has a name now? :D) has on his psychology.

Unless this is all surface level stuff! Think of Thigg like a suit, like a kind of... living wetsuit :D

But yeah, it's psychic influence probably has made this progression a lot easier to swallow for Irwin.

Suit of armor symbiote

Well now I see the symbiosis has progressed rather drastically since we've seen these two. O_o I'm not sure that's good for him in the long run especially with what Thigg does to stay healthy.

I don't think it is so much 'symbiotic' as it is 'parasitic'.

The host should be consumed in a few more days.

Back in the day light houses were manned by a full time resident keeper. In a more isolated lighthouse the keeper might not leave for weeks at a time. The keeper of the Innsmouth lighthouse would be tickled to be that close to town. Or, given the town, maybe not.

Yeah! This is what I was thinking about, it's probably a place you stay at for longer periods of time.

It's one of those things where they're definitely close to town! Horizontally! Maybe not so much, vertically :)

I like the view of Innsmouth in the last panel. Also, I like how Thigg seems more integrated (melded?) into Irwin's body, now.

Speaking of Irwin, I was recently reading about the style of beard that he has. It was adopted by the men in the Amish community around the time of the Civil War as a way of further distinguishing themselves from the soldiers of the time, who all had mustaches with their beards.

Thank you!

And wow, I actually didn't put that much into Irwin's crazy facial hair which I have so much trouble drawing. Oddly enough it works out! Irwin and Chase didn't go to war and were in fact raised on a farm, but they're catholic, not amish :)

Armor or Absorption?

Pkytt
9th Mar 2017, 5:16 PM

From the looks of it, I think that Thigg (nice to have a name with a...face?) is adapting to a human look or is extending his body over Irwin's to provide body armor of some sort (not that he needs it since he's mostly gone anyway...but who knows, maybe he's protecting himself more than he is Irwin's physical form?)

That or he's absorbing Irwin...although I doubt it, as he said it would be difficult for him to travel on Earth...and even then why would he bother to hide his intent...he could let Irwin die and just consume the body.

I'm thinking there's more to this picture than meets the eye....pardon the pun.

Yeah, I was struggling to find a way to introduce its name in the comic without it being too irritating or spending a whole page to do it, so I figured I'd have Irwin casually drop the name since they're getting a little more uh... 'buddy-buddy', these days.

It seems your speculation is lining up with other readers, and it makes me very happy to see :D Thank you for the comment!
