First time we've seen our guy bleed I think.
More clothes removal!
Man that dynamic pose in the first panel is great!

You are correct... granted it's the first time he's really fought anyone, so his ratio of times he's fought to times he's been wounded is 1/1, haha :'D

But thank you! I like to think that my art is on an upward progression. I may have slacked off on the backgrounds for this particular fight but I'm trying to rebuild a buffer at the same time, so.. there ya go :')

I think Jack had blue blood as well :O
Is that common among monsters?

Well, armor is down but with a build like that it might not mean much anyway :/
Although Kurt should show some more respect now!

Jaunt should aim for the joints and disable bug boy.

Maybe it's just on a spectrum we can't see? ;D

Actually I rationalized it in my head as they're both species that travel the void of space, so I figured they would need some sort of special blood to handle it. Blue was what I picked, I didn't really want to start giving people rainbow blood, if that makes sense? XD

I would say Kurt should be more respectful but he immediately called him deceitful, so probably not :')

We'll see if Jaunt learned enough valuable info to target him effectively...

Oh, I do not mind it.
Curious because Jack also had blue blood but then fish men have red. Then again, they are former humans.
I guess Kurt has something like hemolymph then :D

That is a pretty cool decision though. I guess portal traveling has to do with blood pressure as well so having normal red blood cells would be a problem. This way we have no idea what blue blood cells can do...
...right. lmao

Yeeep!

I'm writing it off as a story detail that is, as of now, not important. It might come up on a later storyline or something? I tend to just let things be and only address them when they need to be within the story, but perfectly happy to rap with people about it in the comments :D

They're both badass, but I can't help but think they're both like, bluffing each other to see who will drop out. xD

That could be! Jaunt doesn't have a lot of incentive to kill this guy but it's starting to look like he might have to. Kurt on the other hand would like to wipe him out, unquestionably :')

Subplots

while I'm intrigued by this exchange, I can't help pining for the previous story-line.

And that makes me wonder how this one ties with that one. <_< >_>

It is a long-winded exchange, I feel bad for that, but I can't really... make it shorter at this point. It does have a PURPOSE, but it won't be obvious at the moment.

The rest of the story is coming back I promise :')

I think this is going pretty well! They could spend the entire issue just standing there screaming at each other ala DBZ. XD

:)

So long as it serves a purpose and isn't just a random exchange, I'm find with that! (I hate how I have to go find my comments to see if you've responded. BAH...)

The action here has played out very nicely so far. The big guy has dropped his armor...it looks like things are going to get really serious on his part.

Hey, welcome :D

I really appreciate it, I'm always nervous about how the action is going, it's not something I have a huge amount of experience drawing so it's good to hear :)

But yeah, one of these two is about to prove the other wrong, we'll see how that goes :'D

So Kurt, in essence, can strike Jaunt when he is in the void between worlds. I don't imagine that Jaunt has met many creatures who can do that. I wonder if Kurt's talent is innate to his species, or it is learned, or acquired by some technological means.

Whichever it is, Jaunt will have to quickly come up with a means to counter it.

And how can Kurt prevent Jaunt from launching another mystical boomerang blast? He seems confident that he can. That does not bode well for Jaunt.

Maybe Jaunt will go Indiana Jones on him and whip out a trusty revolver. <g>

You got it! And no, Jaunt has never encountered that before :)

Piece of lore that I won't get into in the comic most likely - The Knowing Hand is the technique and fighting style Kurt studied under, which hones their innate sensing abilities with their antennae in concert with psychic precognition.

They developed this technique to fight back against the Shamblers, who had found what was previously an easy source of sustenance - now they can sense them before they arrive and strike them when they're normally unable to be touched!

So now that our, uh, hero(?) has figured out bits and pieces of what this guy's capable of, it's up to him to formulate a way to counter it :D

All I can hope is that what I've got cooked up is satisfying and entertaining to most of you :') A revolver might not be a bad idea, though, haha!

Oh, What am I missing?! I gotta keep up.

Okay, since his speed was already at level 100 or so, with the loss of his armor, would that make him faster?
I'm being wayy too technical. lol. Hopefully that isn't the case.

That could be :D

Now that Jaunt knows close-range is a losing proposition he has to have some other kind of plan up his sleeve, hm?
