Jaunt should attack the unarmoured bits - the joints.

"Society has weakened you."
Oh, shots fired! SHOTS FIRED!

Interesting. I guess the monocle has power properties of its own. Or supportive powers.
Hm.
Hopefully Jaunt is not bluffing this time...

No joke, Kurt's cranking up the trash talk in a big way :')

The monocle doesn't do a whole lot aside from provide him with sight - an edge that he feels other shamblers don't have in this kind of fight. Not that I felt like Superman-dialogueing that on the page itself, I thought I'd just let it be, heheh.

Ah ha! :D All he's saying is that he fights with less capability than Shamblers in 'the wild'.

Obviously we need to smash the monocle to pieces.

Jaunt has a carapace? Time for a paradigm shift. I had been thinking of him as having a basically humanoid, albeit reptilian, anatomy.

That's the fault of my poor design choices from the start. He was intended to be more insectoid to an extent, but he has had some alterations.

If I had the chance to do it over I mighta given him a slightly tweaked design, heh. Oh well!

Have you ever seen the evolution of Bugs Bunny from his first appearance in 1938 until his design was finalized in 1948 in the way that we now know him?

It took ten years for professional artists to get it right! (Not that I am saying that you are not a professional artist.)

They didn't worry that the 1940 version didn't look like the 1938 version. Or that the 1944 version didn't look like the 1940 version. They kept tweaking his design until they finally got something that they were satisfied with.

As Ralph Waldo Emerson said, "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds."

Keep plugging away!

Oh, totally - I know that characters evolve as artists improve or learn better ways to convey things, and for Bugs Bunny that works, for sure. Bugs Bunny has a lot of singularly contained episodes so the evolution of style isn't quite so noticeable or distracting, but if in the contents of a single story like TSOI is, it might be kinda strange if Jaunt started as one kind of monster and ended as a different kind.

I really appreciate it, though, your words are flattering and encouraging :) Thank you.

I think Jaunt is losing to his own self-arrogance. Yes, you're super cool and funny, but this behemoth is not joking around. Put your best forth. Dazzle us. Take this guy.

Pride's a difficult opponent sometimes. He thought he understood how this would go down when he came into it but he was very wrong, now he just needs to start trying :D
